नवीन समाचार, उत्तरकाशी, 21 जून 2023। उत्तराखंड के चार धामों में शामिल एवं पवित्र गंगा नदी के उद्गम स्थान के रूप में प्रतिष्ठित गंगोत्री (Gangotri) धाम में दूसरे धर्म के एक व्यक्ति द्वारा गंगोत्री घाट के पास भागीरथी (गंगा) नदी को ‘अपवित्र’ किए जाने की घटना प्रकाश में आई है। धाम में मौजूद कुछ तीर्थपुरोहितों और साधु संतों ने उसे ऐसा करते हुए देख लिया। इसके बाद मौके पर जमकर हंगामा हुआ। संतों और तीर्थपुरोहितों ने उसे घेर लिया और पूछताछ की।
पूछताछ में व्यक्ति ने अपना नाम मोहम्मद महमूद आलम निवासी गंगापुरी रोड पानीपत, हरियाणा बताया। इससे लोग और भी अधिक आक्रोशित हो गए। तीर्थ पुरोहित और साधु संतों ने मौके पर पुलिस बुला ली। मौके पर पहुंचे गंगोत्री चौकी प्रभारी उमेश नेगी आरोपित मुस्लिम व्यक्ति सहित उसे यहां लाये हिंदू परिवार को पुलिस चौकी ले गए। इसके बाद मुस्लिम व्यक्ति सहित चार लोगों के खिलाफ 81 पुलिस एक्ट में चालान की कार्रवाई की गई और महमूद आलम से माफीनामा लिखवाया गया।
पुलिस से प्राप्त जानकारी के अनुसार आरोपित महमूद ने बताया कि वह एक हिंदू परिवार के साथ गंगोत्री धाम घूमने आया है। परिवार धाम में पूजा अर्चना कर रहा है। इस दौरान उससे अनजाने में ऐसा अपवित्र कृत्य हो गया।

The incident of ‘desecration’ of the Bhagirathi (Ganga) river near Gangotri Ghat by a person of another religion has come to light in Gangotri Dham, which is included in the Char Dham of Uttarakhand and is revered as the origin of the holy river Ganga. Some pilgrims and saints present in the Dham saw him doing this. After this, there was a lot of uproar on the spot. Saints and pilgrims surrounded him and interrogated him.
During interrogation, the person told his name as Mohammad Mehmood Alam, resident of Gangapuri Road, Panipat, Haryana. This enraged the people even more. The pilgrimage priests and saints called the police on the spot. Gangotri outpost in-charge Umesh Negi reached the spot and took the Hindu family who brought him here along with the accused Muslim man to the police post. After this, challan action was taken against four people including a Muslim person under 81 Police Act and Mahmood Alam was made to write an apology.
According to the information received from the police, the accused Mahmood told that he had come to visit Gangotri Dham with a Hindu family. The family is offering prayers at the Dham. During this unknowingly such an unholy act was done by him.
It is worth mentioning that in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, many cases of people of Muslim community being involved in ‘misdemeanor’ incidents in Devbhoomi have come to the fore. In such a situation, this matter also made people angry. The local people have demanded periodic verification of outsiders.
