Uplabdhi : An alumnus of Kumaun University's DSB Campus, Dr. Shikhar Pant, has been honored with the prestigious Fellow of Royal Society of Biology (FRCB) award, considered the highest recognition in the field of biology. Dr. Pant, currently serving as the coordinator of the Center for Biodiversity Studies at Ghulam Badshah University in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, completed his PhD under the guidance of YPS Pangati and Dr. SS Samant. He has also been recognized as a Fellow of the National Academy of Environmental Science and the Linnean Society.

Reverse Migration, A stone of the forest 'Thul Dhung' did wonders, returned the village's red from London, created employment for everyone in the village. This is the story of Vikram Singh Bangari, a resident of Almora district in Uttarakhand. While working in London, Vikram started dreaming about a stone from his village, which eventually led him to return home. Upon his return, Vikram opened a homestay and shared the story of the magical stone with visitors. CBSE canceled recognition : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has canceled the recognition of 10 schools in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh for violating the terms and conditions of recognition. These schools, which included Bir Sheeba Residential School, Spring Dale School, Bal Bharti Senior Secondary School, and others, were not conducting regular board examinations and had low enrollment in the senior secondary classes. The cancellation of recognition was confirmed by CBSE Regional Officer Dr. Ranveer Singh. The Education Departments of both states have been informed about the order.
Free Coaching : Naveen Samachar brings news of a remarkable initiative by the self-help organization 'Dhaat' in Nainital. In the academic year 2023-24, several deserving students from economically disadvantaged families across all districts of Uttarakhand will receive free MBBS coaching at the renowned 'Pradeep Academy' in Haldwani. The organization's Founder President, Ravi Kant Raju, expressed that this initiative aims to support talented students who face financial constraints in realizing their dreams of becoming doctors. The organization has provided a Google form on their website for online applications, which must be submitted by the evening of 25th June. To be eligible, applicants must have a minimum of 65% marks in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry in their Intermediate exams, with selection based on the highest scores. This scheme is open to students from scheduled caste-tribes and economically weaker sections. The organization plans to expand this program in the future to provide free coaching for engineering to underprivileged students as well.

Sherwood College management par arop, Charges have been filed against three individuals, including the principal and matron, at a prestigious school in Nainital. The incident occurred during the school's annual function when the relatives of a child created a disturbance. They accused the matron of assaulting the child and attempted to take the child out of the school without proper authorization. When confronted by the gate guards, the child's mother also caused a commotion.
Following the incident, the child's mother lodged a police complaint at Tallital police station against the matron and other school staff. Consequently, the police have registered a case against the principal, matron, and another employee. However, the school management has refuted the allegations.
