नवीन समाचार, नैनीताल, 27 जून 2023। (Landslide in Nainital) कमजोर पहाड़ों वाली पर्वतीय पर्यटन नगरी में अभी मॉनसूनी वर्षा एक तरह से ठीक से शुरू भी नहीं हुई है, लेकिन भूस्खलन की खबरें आनी शुरू हो गई हैं। जिला मुख्यालय में मंगलवार सुबह करीब सात बजे राजकीय पॉलीटेक्निक के पास छात्रावास से पहले किलबरी रोड पर भूस्खलन हुआ है। इससे संकरी किलबरी रोड का करीब आधा हिस्सा ध्वस्त होकर एटीआई यानी उत्तराखंड प्रशासन अकादमी के आवासों के पास ऊपर से जोरदार आवाज के साथ गिर पड़ा।
गनीमत रही कि इससे कोई जनहानि नहीं हुई। अलबत्ता, बताया गया है कि इस कारण क्षेत्र की पेयजल लाइन क्षतिग्रस्त हो गई है, और इस कारण क्षेत्र के राजकीय पॉलीटेक्निक, एटीआई, ओक पार्क, हंस निवास व चीना हाउस आदि क्षेत्रों की पेयजल आपूर्ति बाधित व प्रभावित होने की सूचना है। देखें वीडिओ :
इससे किलबरी, पंगोट, घुग्धू खान, रौखड़ सहित दर्जनों गांवों के लिए वाहनों का आवागमन मुश्किल हो गया है, और भविष्य में आवागमन बाधित होने की भी आशंका उत्पन्न हो गई है। इससे क्षेत्रीय ग्रामीणों के मुख्यालय आने-जाने के साथ फल-सब्जी व दूध की आपूर्ति भी प्रभावित हो सकती है।

A landslide has occurred on Kilbury Road before the hostel near the State Polytechnic in the district headquarters at around seven o’clock on Tuesday morning. Due to this, about half of the narrow Kilbury Road collapsed and fell with a loud sound from above near the residences of ATI i.e. Uttarakhand Academy of Administration.
It is a matter of honor that there was no loss of life. However, it has been told that due to this the drinking water line of the area has been damaged, and due to this, the supply of drinking water in the areas like Government Polytechnic, ATI, Oak Park, Hans Niwas and China House etc. has been reported to be disrupted and affected.
Due to this, movement of vehicles has become difficult for dozens of villages including Kilbari, Pangot, Ghugdhu Khan, Rokhad, and there is a possibility of traffic disruption in future. Due to this, the supply of fruits, vegetables and milk can also be affected along with the movement of regional villagers to the headquarters.
It is noteworthy that before this, there has been an incident of stone falling from the mountain near the Gweljeu temple on the cold road of the city. While in spite of lakhs of claims by the government-administration about the landslide near Pashan Devi temple in the past years, the work of permanent repair has not even started.
