“Death on the Kedarnath Trail?”

Nature strikes again on the treacherous Kedarnath trail. Near Junglechatti, a sudden landslide sent five workers—who were carrying pilgrims in palanquins—plummeting into a deep gorge. Two of them, both from Jammu & Kashmir, died instantly. The others are critically injured. SDRF teams rushed in, but rescue efforts were slowed by the unforgiving terrain and constant rain. With a yellow alert in place and monsoon rains intensifying, the bigger question remains—how safe is the Kedarnath pilgrimage route for those who make it possible?
