Rape case involving identity deception : A distressing case of a young man deceiving a girl by changing his identity and raping her under the guise of friendship has emerged in Haridwar’s Dharmanagari. The victim lodged a complaint at the Sidkul police station, leading to the registration of a case and the subsequent arrest of the accused. The girl narrated that she was introduced to the young man, who identified himself as Sonu and claimed to work in an industrial unit of SIDCUL. Over time, they developed a romantic relationship, but the girl later discovered that his real name was Sartaj, and he threatened to expose explicit photos and videos of her. The police have filed a case against the accused for rape and other relevant charges.
