A petition was filed by a resident named Joshi, and the next hearing is scheduled for August 10. The petitioner highlighted the lack of an independent agency to investigate corruption in the state. Promises made by political parties regarding the appointment of a Lokayukta to tackle corruption remain unfulfilled.
