The incident occurred in the border area of Pithoragarh, resulting in the recovery of nine bodies so far, while two individuals are still being searched for. The accident involved a family from the Shama area, who were on their way for worship when the tragedy struck. The police, SDRF jawans, and local villagers are engaged in search and rescue operations amidst challenging conditions caused by heavy rainfall and the presence of mud and sewer. The accident occurred around 9:20 am, and it is estimated that around 12 people were in the vehicle at the time. Due to the steep terrain and rocky area, the victims are facing difficulties. MLA Harish Dhami has reached out to the district’s top officials, including the District Magistrate, regarding the incident.
नवीन समाचार, पिथौरागढ़, 22 जून 2023। (Pithauragarh Accident) पिथौरागढ़ जनपद के सीमांत क्षेत्र से एक बड़ी व दुःखद दुर्घटना का समाचार है। यहां हुई एक दुर्घटना में करीब 11 लोगों की मौत का समाचार है। बताया जा रहा है कि 10 लोगों के शव बरामद कर लिए गए हैं, जबकि अन्य की तलाश की जा रही है। मृतकों में दो सैनिक सुरेंद्र कोरंगा और शंकर सिंह कोरंगा भी शामिल हैं। यह सभी लोग गांव से परिवार की पूजा में शामिल होने आए थे। वाहन दुर्घटना पर जिले के प्रभारी मंत्री सौरभ बहुगुणा व मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने दु:ख जताया है।

प्राप्त जानकारी के अनुसार बागेश्वर जनपद के कपकोट-भराड़ी से आगे शामा क्षेत्र के निवासी एक परिवार के लोग बुलेरो गाड़ी (UK02TA-10845) पूजा के लिए तेजम वाले मार्ग से विकास खंड मुनस्यारी के तल्ला जोहार के होकरा क्षेत्र में होकरा माता की पूजा के लिए जा रहे थे। दुर्घटना के बाद पुलिस व एसडीआरएफ के जवान स्थानीय ग्रामीणों की मदद से खोज एवं बचाव कार्य में जुटे हैं। देखें वीडिओ :
ताजा जानकारी के अनुसार अब तक 9 लोगों के शव चट्टानों में नजर आ रहे हैं। खोयम के प्रधान हीरा सिंह मेहता का कहना है कल रात भारी वर्षा हुई थी। मौके पर कीचड़ और नाला है। संभवतया इस कारण ही इतनी बड़ी दुर्घटना हुई है। घटना लगभग 9.20 बजे की और दुर्घटनाग्रस्त गाड़ी में 12 लोगों के सवार होने की सम्भावना है। नीचे गहरी चट्टान है, इसलिए दुर्घटना के हताहतों का सही पमा नहीं चल पा रहा है। विधायक हरीश धामी ने जिला अधिकारी सहित जिले के आला अधिकारियों से बात की है।
