The incident, which took place in Savalde village, has sparked resentment among local villagers and Hinduist organizations. The girl’s father filed a complaint, leading to the police registering an FIR against the accused youth. Efforts are underway to apprehend him and bring him to court. Hindu organizations have labeled it as a case of ‘love jihad’. Love jihad in Haridwar, Haridwar, Uttarakhand has witnessed another distressing case of love jihad, where a juice seller allegedly changed his name and religion to deceive a Hindu girl into a physical relationship under the pretense of marriage. The victim has now come forward, revealing the pressure she is facing to convert. The accused, running a juice shop, hid his true identity and religion to establish a friendship with the girl. Subsequently, he exploited her and is now coercing her to change her faith. In response to the victim’s complaint, the police have arrested the accused on charges of rape, and an investigation is underway. This incident once again highlights the controversial issue of love jihad, sparking debates and concerns surrounding fraudulent relationships and religious conversions.
