The court made this decision in response to a habeas corpus petition filed by the woman’s husband, who is a gym trainer. The woman informed the court that she experienced ill-treatment from her husband and therefore chose to leave him. She willingly decided to live with her lover, leaving behind her husband and their 10-year-old son and six-year-old daughter.
Mahapanchayat, The Uttarakhand High Court has issued a significant order banning TV debates, objectionable slogans, and discussions on social media regarding the Puraula Mahapanchayat. The court directed the government to take strict action against any disobedience of these orders and ensure strict security arrangements. News channels and social media platforms are prohibited from discussing the Mahapanchayat, and the police will enforce the order. The court also instructed the state government to investigate individuals involved in the case. Protests have erupted in the Yamuna Valley region, leading to roadblocks and the detention of individuals. Hindu organizations have planned a Mahapanchayat in Barkot on June 25 as a response to these developments.
