Nainital Roads, Great news for Nainital! The city’s 58 roads and seven key intersections are set to undergo significant improvements, beautification, and widening. The intersections include Bus Stand, Cheena Baba, Manu Maharani, Masjid Tiraha, Tallital Rickshaw Stand, and State Bank of India Mallital intersection. A review meeting was conducted by the District Magistrate (DM) to discuss the plans for these enhancements.
During the meeting, the Executive Engineer, Ratnesh Kumar, showcased drone mapping of the identified areas where traffic congestion and disruptions persist. The DM formed a team, led by the authority’s secretary and accompanied by a traffic engineer, to thoroughly inspect the locations and develop a comprehensive action plan and Detailed Project Report (DPR) for beautification and widening by July 10.
The concerned departments have been instructed to commence the work using allocated funds starting from July 15. Additionally, departments without allocated funds were directed to submit their plans and DPRs. The DM urged stakeholders to engage in negotiations with private property owners to ensure the smooth execution of the project and provide enhanced facilities within the city. It is important to note that previous guidelines were issued by the DM regarding the improvement, beautification, and widening of 60 km of the city’s roads at strategic locations.”

The driver, Rehmat Ali, and his assistant, Mukesh Kumar, narrowly escaped with minor injuries. They were promptly taken to BD Pandey District Hospital for first aid. Nainital New Traffic Plan, The annual fair held at Kainchi Dham of Baba Nib Karauri is expected to witness a record-breaking number of devotees this year. Approximately one lakh devotees are anticipated to visit the fair on the 15th of June, surpassing previous attendance records. In light of the overwhelming influx of devotees, the Nainital Police has announced new traffic arrangements for Kainchi Dham. Unlike previous years, traffic restrictions will be imposed for two days, starting from June 14. The new system entails designated routes and parking areas for different types of vehicles, as well as shuttle services to facilitate visitors. Strict enforcement measures will be implemented, including penalties for overloading, speeding, driving under the influence, and violation of two-wheeler safety regulations.

Namaj, In Doiwala, the capital city of Dehradun, the police have apprehended a Hindu youth who is reportedly suffering from mental depression after watching videos related to Allah on YouTube. The individual has been confined to a room for approximately four years and is said to perform the five daily prayers of Islam.

Moreover, the detained youth is accused of encouraging others to adopt the Islamic faith and is suspected of having connections with Pakistan, potentially transmitting information through social media channels. The police currently have custody of the individual and are conducting interrogations.

As per the police’s information, the 24-year-old Vaibhav Bijlwan, a resident of Bullawala village in Doiwala, holds a polytechnic degree. According to the youth’s father, he has been homebound and experiencing mental distress since completing his studies.

The police state that during questioning, the youth confessed to not believing in God and admitted to regularly watching videos related to Allah on a YouTube channel. Rajesh Shah, the Kotwal of Doiwala, mentioned that the young man appears to be mentally disturbed, and the investigation is ongoing. Although there are suspicions of him transmitting information to Pakistan, this claim has not been verified yet.
