Dharmik Jagrookta, In Uttarakhand, a movement called ‘Roti, Choti, and Beti’ is gaining momentum, addressing issues such as love jihad, demographic change, and encroachment under the guise of religious symbols. The state has witnessed campaigns against illegal encroachments and outsider verifications. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed senior police officers, including the DGP, to initiate verification campaigns against outsiders.

The recent agitation by Hindu organizations in Purola, Uttarkashi, has led to Muslim businessmen shutting down their establishments. While political parties remain silent, this issue has sparked widespread discussion in society. There are appeals to refrain from visiting temples in revealing and vulgar attire, indicating the growing awareness among Hindus due to recent events.

Swami Darshan Bharti, a prominent Hindu leader in Purola, has issued a stern warning that Uttarakhand is united for the cause of roti (food), choti (braid), and beti (daughter) and will not spare jihadis. Although the movement began in Uttarkashi district, its impact is being felt across other districts as well.

Chief Minister Dhami conducted a high-level meeting with the Director General of Police and other senior officers, emphasizing the government’s commitment to prevent becoming a soft target for love jihad and religious conversion. The state plans to resume strict verifications for outsiders and initiate a large-scale police verification campaign.

Recent incidents include an attempt to lure two minor sisters by a Meerut resident pretending to be a Hindu named Guddu and the arrest of individuals attempting to kidnap a minor girl in Chamoli district. The tensions remain high in Purola, where Muslim-owned shops have been threatened, leading to their closure. Protests and demonstrations led by organizations like Vishva Hindu Parishad and Hindu Jagruti Manch have demanded action against outsiders involved in such incidents.

Swami Darshan Bharti has expressed that Uttarakhand will not tolerate those who come to the state for population growth, jihad, land jihad, and love jihad. The movement seeks to protect the culture and values of Devbhoomi (Land of the Gods).
