A strange incident unfolded at Pakbada police station in Moradabad on June 17, 2023, when a local boy arrived with a girl claiming that she had come all the way from Uttarakhand to marry him. Although the boy is willing to marry her, he fears opposition from the girl’s family. As a result, the police are making efforts to establish contact with the girl and her family members in order to convince them. The girl, a resident of Someshwar in Almora district, arrived at her lover’s house in Moradabad and insisted on marriage. Despite the lover’s request to bring her family along, she declined. Consequently, both of them went to the police station, where they spent several hours. The Pakbada police reported that the boy had previously visited Someshwar for work and met the girl, who lived in the neighborhood. They developed a relationship and maintained regular phone contact. While the boy had been trying to persuade his own family, the girl unexpectedly arrived, prompting him to seek assistance from the police to prevent potential issues with her family in the future. The police made extensive efforts to pacify the girl and establish communication with her family members.
