Lokayukta, The High Court of Uttarakhand has ordered the government to appoint a Lokayukta within a specified time frame. The court has also prohibited any expenditure until the appointment is made. Currently, the Lokayukta Institute in Uttarakhand is spending around two to three crore rupees annually without a Lokayukta. A petition was filed by a resident named Joshi, and the next hearing is scheduled for August 10. The petitioner highlighted the lack of an independent agency to investigate corruption in the state.
