On May 26, an attempt was made to abduct a Hindu schoolgirl by two youths, including one from the Muslim community, at Purola in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Ubaid s/o Ahmed and Jitendra Saini s/o Attar Saini, residents of Najibabad UP were arrested in this case. Both these youths used to work at a quilt mattress shop in Purola. This incident has caught fire. There is an atmosphere of anger in the entire district regarding the matter.
In this case, today after Purola and Barkot, traders in Chinyalisaur and Dunda closed their shops and came out on the streets accompanied by drums and raised slogans alleging love jihad in this matter. Along with this, he warned the outside traders to vacate the shop within 15 days.
